Reiki at the VA Stand Down

It felt great to be back offering reiki to veterans at the Jesse Brown VA Stand Down! We started our outreach here more than a decade ago and the two years off (thanks to Covid) was rough. We saw dear, old friends, made a bunch of new friends, and introduced lots of folks to reiki.

Favorite feedback: “I felt negative energy leave my body—it’s amazing!”

We completely agree.

Patrice is a ‘veteran’ of volunteering at these events, and it was Suzanne’s first time.

It was everyone’s first time giving reiki alongside these huge military trucks.

Veterans wanted help with stress and pain, and we surveyed them before and after to see if their 10-minute sessions moved the needle.

Reiki definitely did move the needle, for both stress and pain!

The women at the Medical Services booth LOVED their reiki sessions.

As the staff began packing up tables and chairs, we kept getting interest in sessions, 25 overall. A very good day.
